Homeless people in Manchester are having their stories brought to life in a compelling installation.
Karl Hyde and Rick Smith, of British electronic group Underworld, conceived Manchester Street Poem for the biannual Manchester International Festival.
The installation is working to broadcast the voices of those who go unheard.
Over a year has been spent working with local organisations Mustard Tree and Manchester Homelessness Partnership to develop the project.
Karl has covered the walls of the venue with words from individuals living on the streets.
A powerful soundtrack built by Rick fills the space with noise gathered from all over the city.
The work is hoping to give individuality, identity and integrity to the term homeless.
