Manchester Letitia Sweeney takes 3rd place in Leeds West Indian Carnival

Manchester’s Letitia Sweeney takes 3rd place in Leeds West Indian Carnival Princess and Princess show 2017.

Last weekend the celebrations begun in the run up to the 50 Leeds West Indian Carnival.
The main parade takes place over Bank Holiday weekend, but on Sunday 20th August 2017. The Prince and Princess were crowned by a panel of judges in Leeds, Chapeltown.

Letitia Sweeney, 6 year old from Rusholme, was the only representative from Manchester.  Also Letitia was one of the youngest contestant to be crowned in 3rd place.  Her colourful and mesmerising costume was designed by Trevor Hendrickson.

Proud mum said, ‘I can’t explain how proud I am, watching Letitia on stage it melted my heart. She was so graceful and is a true Princess’

You can see Letitia in her costume accompanied by the Leeward Island People Association Troop at Leeds Carnival.
