Manchester on a mission to end child trafficking

A charity organisation is hoping to raise £3,000 to go towards putting an end to child trafficking.

Fight Child Traffick will use the money to take a team of four people out to Cambodia in October where they will work alongside other organisations to prevent and bring awareness to the issues of child trafficking.

Whilst there, they will be working to rescue and rehabilitate child victims of forced prostitution, some of whom are as young as four years old.

In the run up to October, as a way to generate more funds, Fight Child Traffick have organised three fun events for the public to take part in whist donating to the cause.

A Family Movie Night will take place this Saturday 6 June, a five-day fitness bootcamp begins two days later in Alexandra Pak and thirdly football tournament and family fun day Football for Freedom takes place on 18 July. Check out TNT’s events calendar for details.

Volunteer Susanna said, “We are hoping that the experience of the trip will equip us with knowledge and understanding that will go on to help us implement an organisation that fights the issue of trafficking here [in Manchester] on a more local level.”
