The 8th National Black & Asian Writers Conference is set to take place in Manchester on Saturday 8 October.
Running from 10am until 5pm, the conference will take place at 3 different locations – Mad Lab, Chapter One Books and Central Library. The event is hosted by ‘Cultureword’, a leading writing development agency.
Thirty-five writers will make up the panellists that will discuss a range of topics throughout the day, such as racism and the representation of mental health in writing. There will also be a range of other entertainment throughout the day, including stalls, performances and interviews.
The writers that will feature on the day have made an impact in a range of fields. These fields range from crime fiction to thought-provoking poetry, as well as a number of visual and digital artists.
People will be available on the day to guide guests to different panels at different venues, so there’s no need to stress about what’s happening where. Entertainment in the evening will commence at 7pm at Contact Theatre.
For anyone with a passion for, or interest in Black and Asian writing, this is an event not to be missed.
