Manchester’s Christmas lights switch-on

Manchester’s annual family-friendly party return to Albert Square on Friday 4 November.

Kicking off at 7:30pm, the evening this year boasts a great line-up of entertainment – and it’s all completely free of charge.

Crowds can enjoy music from last year’s X Factor winner Louisa Johnson, as well as a set from local Manchester musician JP Cooper. Other singers and dancers are set to take to the stage across the night.

The cast of musical production Billy Elliot will also perform – revealing a sneak-preview of the show which is at the Palace Theatre from 29 November.

Hosting the evening is Key 103’s Mike Toolan, Corrie’s Brooke Vincent and Take Me Out’s Paddy McGuinness.

Councillor Pat Karney, Manchester’s Christmas spokesperson has spoken excitedly about the event:

“As always the Switch-On show promises something for everyone during an evening of high-energy entertainment and I hope to see as many families there as possible soaking up the atmosphere and welcoming the festive season in Manchester”.

The event’s finale is a fantastic firework display for all to enjoy in the UK’s ‘Capital of Christmas’.
