Floyd Mayweather beat Connor McGreggor with a technical knockout (TKO). Maintaining his unbeaten record and claiming his 50th boxing victory.
After eluding the boxing ring for over two years, Mayweather then returns to Las Vegas to whoop Connor McGreggor. Mayweather then gives him a good old fashion schooling by a master, on the art of professional boxing.
The Irishman gave critics a run for their money by staying in the ring till round ten. McGreggor was written off before the fight started. Joe public and the bookies alike were surprised that Connor went the distance.
McGreggor did get off to a flying start, throwing numerous punches and earning himself some early points. The Irishman was ahead after the first bell rang.
Connor received an assault of warning for illegal moves. Such as connecting with the top of Mayweather’s head from the third round.
Mayweather is truly the entertainers he had time to wink to the cameras in a show of confidence. Signalling to all there – that he had the fight in the bag!
McGreggor stated “The fight should have gone on. I thought the stoppage was a bit early, there was a lot on the line and I thought he should have let me carry on. “I was just a little fatigued.”
The estimated purse for this Irishman is reported to be a minimum purse of £23 million. Mayweather on the other hand is estimated to be £180 million.
Mayweather stated about Connor, He could no longer defend himself and the referee had to end it. A tough competitor – we gave the fans what they wanted to see. “He’s a lot better than I thought he was. But I was the better man. It was our game plan to take our time and take him out down the stretch. That was my last fight. Tonight I chose the right dance partner. Connor you were a great dance partner tonight.”
