The winner of Miss Universe GB 2016 has been announced, following a four-day competition at a Cardiff hotel last month.
Jaime-lee Faulkner, 27 from Sheffield, took home the prized crown, and the right to represent Great Britain at the Miss Universe contest this year.
Speaking after her win, Jaime-lee said: “I am thrilled now to have the crown of my dreams and am determined to make the most of every opportunity this year.”
She beat competition from University of Manchester student Ola Alatishe, 23, and from Manchester Airport Lounge Hostess Jennifer Eve, 20.
Placing behind Jaime-lee were 2nd place Christina Chalk, 22, from Dunblane, and 3rd place Samantha Hancock, 24, from Cardiff.
Contestants took part in fundraising for the Strongbones Children’s Charitable Trust ahead of the final, raising nearly £9,000 for children with bone-related health problems.
Over £2,700 was also raised for SheRoes, helping victims of acid attacks in India.
Giovanni Malacrino, headline sponsor of Miss Universe Great Britain 2016, said: “I backed the competition to support young women as they aim high in life and try to make a difference at the same time.
“What they have done for good causes is amazing and I really look forward to seeing Jaime-lee go from strength to strength”.
In the final four day event, finalists attended the Cooking for a Cause event at Giovanni’s Cookery School, as well as an empowerment day, a fitness challenge, and the final catwalk competition.
