A mother has been charged with the murder of her newborn baby at a house in West Sussex.
The 29-year-old woman was arrested after an ambulance was called to an address on Aldwick Road, Bognor Regis, at 8.37am on Wednesday 6 April, where a baby girl was confirmed dead at the scene.
The mother, Ginaite Suminaite, was taken to St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester for urgent medical treatment, before being arrested on Friday 8 April and subsequently charged with murder on Saturday. She will appear before Crawley Magistrates Court on Monday 11 April.
Sussex police have confirmed that they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the murder.
