Do you find it difficult working towards your goals even though you know how important they are? You have tried will power but it just hasn’t worked? Don’t worry you are not alone.
American author, Napoleon Hill once said, ‘the great leaders of business, industry and finance. The great artists, poets, musicians and writers, all became great because they have developed the power of self-motivation’.
Makes sense to me and hopefully to you to. Being self-motivating, is literally the power and driving force behind an individual’s success. Without it, it is difficult or even almost impossible to reach your true potential. Self-motivation is a key life skill. It helps us to achieve life goals and improve our quality of life.
When you are self-motivating, you do not need others to encourage you. You know what you want to achieve and you know what your goals are. People who are self-motivating tend to have high levels of confidence and self-esteem and manage their time wisely. They understand that time is like money and don’t waste it….
So how can we become more self-motivating?
Set clear goals. Start with short term ones. Achieve them and move onto the more difficult ones.
Finish what you start. Try not to ‘half finish’ a task as this will damage your confidence.
Reward yourself and celebrate you success. This will give you something to look forward to and help you focus on the outcome.
Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. We all make mistakes. Learn from them.
Believe in yourself and your abilities. Never ever under estimate your potential and how special you are. You can do this.
A good friend once told me, ‘if it’s to be it’s up to me’. Your success will depend on how bad you want it and the ability to motivate yourself.
Stay focused and stay blessed.
