Motorists are being advised of road closures that will be in place as a result of the Conservative Party Conference.
The Conservative Party Conference is taking place from Sunday October 4 until Wednesday October 7 at Manchester Central, and motorists are advised to plan their journeys and allow extra time.
Mount Street, between Windmill Street and Peter Street, will be closed from 7am on Monday September 28.
Windmill Street, between Lower Mosley Street and Museum Street, will be closed from 7pm on Wednesday September 30, while Lower Mosley Street will be closed to traffic into the city centre, from Great Bridgewater Street to Windmill Street, except for access to Bishopsgate and Manchester Central NCP car park, from the same time.
Peter Street, between Museum Street and Oxford Street, Oxford Street between Portland Street and Peter Street, Hall Street and Bale Street will be closed from 7pm on Thursday October 1.
The whole of Windmill Street, along with Marron Place, Jerusalem Place, Museum Street, Southmill Street between Windmill Street and Bootle Street, and Peter Street, between Deansgate and Museum Street, will be closed from 7am on Saturday October 3.
Manchester Central NCP car park will be closed from 10pm on Saturday October 3.
Following the conference, the road restrictions will start being removed on the afternoon of Wednesday October 7 and will be entirely removed on Friday October 9.
Pay and display parking bays will be suspended on Mount Street from 6pm on Sunday September 27 until Friday October 9, on Bootle Street from 6pm on Thursday October 1 until Friday October 9, on Southmill Street from 4pm on Friday October 2 until Thursday October 8, Peter Street and Museum Street from 8pm on Friday October 2 until Thursday October 8.
Seven disabled parking bays on Mount Street next to the Central Library will be suspended from 6pm on Thursday October 1 until Friday October 9. Five pay and display bays on Central Street and two pay and display parking bays on Jackson’s Row will be converted to disabled bays from 6pm on Thursday October 1 until Friday October 9. Access to Central Street will be via Bootle Street as Peter Street will be closed.

Motorists and public transport users are also advised that further road closures and changes to transport services will be in place because of a planned Trades Union Congress demonstration taking place on Sunday October 4, and more details will be issued shortly.
Metrolink services will run as normal throughout the conference, although some changes are expected to be in place because of the planned demonstration on Sunday October 4. Customers are also advised the bridge linking the Deansgate-Castlefield stop to AMC Great Northern and the walkway along Manchester Central to Windmill Street will be closed from midnight Friday October 2 until Thursday October 8.
