MP’s want better support for poorer pupils

MP’s have said that “urgent steps” are needed to ensure better support for 2 million disadvantaged pupils in England.

Labour’s shadow education secretary has Lucy Powell has called for a “better understanding” of what functions in order to close the gap between rich and poor students.

Chairwoman of The Public Account Committee Meg Hillier has stated, “there needs to be a better understanding of why disadvantaged pupils from different backgrounds can perform so differently”.
