Former talk-show host Oprah Winfrey has responded to comments from US Presidential hopeful Donald Trump saying he wants her as a running mate with a resounding rejection.
The much loved personality appeared on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show on 16 June, where she was asked whether she would run with Trump, who is close to securing the Republican nomination.
However, having recently pledged her support for Hilary Clinton, Oprah said she would respond to any request from Trump by saying: “Donald, I’m with her!”
Oprah stated that she would never run for office, saying that she had never felt qualified to run in previous campaigns before turning the screw by adding: “After this year, I’m feeling really qualified”.
Speaking with ETOnline, the 62-year-old described the possibility of electing Hilary Clinton as President, making her the first female leader of the US, as a ‘seminal moment for women’.
She said: “What this says is, there is no ceiling, that ceiling just went boom! It says anything is possible when you can be leader of the free world”.
With both the Republican and Democrat nominees all but confirmed, the race for the White House will continue to heat up ahead of Election Day in the US on 8 November.
