Greater Manchester Police (GMP) are appealing for information after two men were stabbed in Trafford.
Police were called to Derbyshire Road, Partington at approximately 6.35am on Thursday 6 April 2017. They responded to reports of a man being stabbed.
When officers arrived at the scene they found a 27-year-old man with stab wounds to the chest. He was taken to hospital, where he currently remains in a serious condition.
A 28-year-old man fled the scene in the direction of Warburton Lane and was arrested on suspicion of assault. He was also taken to hospital with a stab wound to the chest.
An investigation is underway and detectives are now appealing for information.
Chief Inspector Fahar Zaman, of GMP’s Trafford borough, said: “This incident has led to two men being taken to hospital with stab wounds and one of them is in a serious condition.
“We have arrested one man but our investigation continues to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident.
“This happened in the early morning when people would have been leaving for work and may have seen something.
“I would urge anybody who noticed anything suspicious in the area at the time to come forward”.
