Police are appealing for witnesses after an attempted rape occurred in Oldham town centre.
At around 4.40am on Friday 28 October 2016 a 34-year-old woman was found on Union Street in a distressed state.
The victim was making her way home from a bar, when a man she had spoken to earlier in the evening approached her. The victim was then sexually assaulted behind a chiropractor practice on Yorkshire Street.
GMP is currently investigating the attack and a police cordon is now present in the area. Any witnesses are urged to come forward.
GMP’s Detective Inspector Ian Harratt said: “The attacker is described as around 30-years-old with olive skin, of medium build with brown eyes, dark brown short back and sides hair and stubble. We believe he was wearing black jeans and a dark jacket with a fur pattern on the front. He spoke with a local accent and identified himself as ‘Lee’ ”.
Anyone who recognises the description of the attacker must contact GMP as soon as possible.
Anyone with information is asked 0161 856 8972 to contact police on 101 or the independent charity, Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
