Last night five people were reported to have been injured after gunshots were fired at a nightclub in San Jose, California, where rapper Chris Brown was performing.
The 25 year-old was reportedly on stage at Fiesta Club at around 1:20am (local time), performing his hit song Loyal when the shots rang out causing mass panic in the packed out crowd.
Brown’s security is said to have noticed a fight breaking out on the left side of the stage just before the frenzied attack.
Police have confirmed that Chris Brown and girlfriend Karruche Tran – who was there to show support – escaped unharmed.
Only an hour before the attack some partygoers were complaining on the Capricorn Bash Facebook page demanding refunds because they were unable to get into the club.
One such partygoer wrote: “Who do we talk to for the refund because they are not letting people in?!!”
Several people who attended the event have been detained after the incident and police are still working to get the full picture on what happened.
Chris Brown’s last tweet, eight hours ago: “@ChrisBrown: San Diego tonight 8-)!”
We suspect he never expected the night to end up like this.
