Monday this week, the 9th of November marks fifteen years of The Printworks being one of Manchester’s best party venues, and to celebrate the venue will be hosting a weekend of outstanding live music, tenant offers and inviting competitions. The anniversary weekend will be held on Saturday the 14th and Sunday the 15th of November. The Printworks attracts and welcomes an estimated 8 million people through its doors every year, with its array of bars and restaurants.
The two free events will feature a diverse range of musical talents. On the Saturday night versatile artist DJ Seno will be delivering a set, and 18-year-old Slovenian born Julia Aljaž will follow him. The singer/songwriter is a self-taught pianist and guitarist and she also possesses a highly engaging and harmonious tone of voice, so Saturday’s event provides attendees with the chance to experience the distinctive sound of the Slovenian artist. Julia will be touring around the UK throughout the beginning of 2016. Saturday’s event will also see Bradford born Matty Fletcher perform, the aspiring youngster has recently received grand acknowledgement for his covers of Adele and Ed Sheeran songs, this up and coming pop artist will be performing throughout the finale of Saturday’s event.
On Sunday ‘The Casino Allstars’ will be providing the sound of Northern Soul, and will also provide a glimpse in to the phenomenon that was inherent within 1970’s and 1980’s music. The band is made up of Northern DJ’s whose aim is to bring largely unfamiliar American soul and R&B to the dance floors of the Printworks. For the past six years ‘The Casino Allstars’ have been the UK’s only truly authentic Northern Soul group. Frank Byrne, who organised the first Manchester Soul Festival that was held at The Printworks, will close the night with his performance. Frank is an immensely talented artist who will perpetuate Sunday’s theme whilst providing a unique and excitable version of Northern Soul and Motown music.
