Projekts MCR’s main aim is to make Manchester a better place for skateboarding and skateboarders and all those people who haven’t tried skateboarding yet.
In the 2014-15 academic year, Projekts MCR has tried to focus on young people in Manchester by opening skateboard clubs in a number of primary schools including Rolls Crescent, Webster, Cavendish, St. Hilda’s, Manley Park and St. John Fishers.
“We have received nothing but positive feedback from the staff and the students of these schools and all of them have re-booked our skateboard club for the next academic year”, head coach Jonny Rose said.
The organisation has run taster days in more than 20 schools across our city; providing a unique experience for thousands of children.
Notably, Projekts MCR has developed female skateboarding through work with the BBC and VANS, and has since seen the number of female attendance in their skateboard sessions more than triple in the past year.
