R&B singer R Kelly stormed out of a live interview after refusing to answer questions about past sexual abuse allegations.
The 48-year-old rapper was talking to HuffPost Live as part of a promotional tour for his new album, The Buffet, on Monday 21 December 2015 when he decided he had enough – and just walked off.
During the strange 20-minute interview, the musician asked host Caroline Modarressy-Tehrani if she drinks and gets drunk and “falls all over and not know where you’re at?”
When puzzled by Kelly’s questions, the interviewer said “I don’t understand your line of questioning, but no” to which Kelly said, “Exactly, but it ain’t positive is it? It has nothing to do with your job, does it?”
The awkward interview carried on until Kelly walked off citing he is being interrogated and that is not what he came on the interview for.
The bad news didn’t stop there for Kelly. The Chicago R&B singer’s new album debuted in the 16th spot on the Billboard Hot 200 list, selling about 37,000 copies and 49,000 digital tracks in its first week, according to Nielsen Music.
Kelly’s 13th solo studio album, released 11 December 2015, placed five spots behind songs from Jordan Smith, the Season 9 winner of the NBC singing competition “The Voice”, and six spots behind Adele’s 2011 album “21”.
Previously his other studio albums have landed in the top 10 of the Billboard chart. His 2013 album “Black Panties” debuted at No. 4 and sold 133,000 copies in its first week.
