Thursday 4 May 2017 will see a Council by-election held in Manchester’s Rusholme ward.
The by-election will come after Councillor Kate Chappell, one of the ward’s elected members on Manchester City Council, steps down.
A full list of by-election candidates will be published by 4pm on Wednesday 5 April.
Poll cards with polling station details will be sent to those who are registered to vote in the area.
For those living in Rusholme, there will be a Poll card for the Council ward by-election. There will also be a poll cared for the Greater Manchester Mayoral election. Polling hours will be from 7am to 10pm.
Rusholme residents are reminded that it is essential that they are registered to vote in order to take part in this election. If you are not already registered, the deadline for applications to register to be received is Thursday 13 April.
Anyone who is registered to vote in the Rusholme ward can request a postal vote if this method is preferred. Completed voting applications must be received no later than 5pm on Tuesday 18 April.
Rusholme ward is in the Manchester Gorton parliamentary constituency. It is here, where a by-election will also take place to elect a new Member of Parliament for Manchester Gorton constituency.
This by-election follows the death of Gerald Kaufman. The date for this parliamentary by-election is yet to be confirmed.
