Salford City College has been crowned Further Education College of the Year at the annual Educate North Awards.
The college swept up at the ceremony, taking home the sought after award as well as the ‘External Relations Team of the Year’ accolade.
The Educate North and UK Leadership Awards, is a prestigious event which celebrates and recognises excellence in the education sector.
The judges are said be “thrilled by the non-selective intake and challenging circumstances” the college must undertake.
Judges also said the college “kept true to themselves and true to their value” – making them stand out against others.
The college has a history of success and a commitment to providing young people with the very best opportunities.
They produce some of the best results in the country.
2016 proved to be another successful year with students yet again achieving a 99% A-Level pass rate.
The college also saw a £9million investment into its estates and facilities with more to come this year.
Over 200 people gathered for the esteemed 2017 awards ceremony at the Hilton Hotel on Deansgate.
Principal John Spindler said: “We are delighted to accept not just one, but two awards which reflect the huge effort and determination by our staff to make our college the best.
“Particularly by providing a great service to our students and community”.
Salford City College was also recently graded as ‘good’ by Ofsted.
The college says that by choosing them, students can be assured that they will receive high quality teaching and learning.
