A security surveillance balloon may have brought down the RAF helicopter that crashed in Afghanistan on Sunday.
Two RAF servicemen were amongst the five people killed in the disaster that happened at the NATO base in Kabul.
An Afghan security guard witnessed the incident and has stated that the aircraft “hit the cable of the security balloon over the base. It seemed like the cable was turned around the helicopter base”. Earlier on Sunday three people were also injured following an attempted suicide attack upon a convoy of British troops, also in Kabul.
