The US Olympic team finished top of the Olympic table with a staggering 121 medals.
Making an incredible individual contribution to this was gymnast Simone Biles.
She’s taking home 4 gold medals, in women’s vault, women’s floor-exercise, women’s individual all-around and women’s team all-around.
As though all of this wasn’t enough, she also has a bronze in women’s beam under her belt.
Nerves of steel and consistently stunning routines made for a ruthless combination for Biles throughout the competition.
The 19-year-old went into the competition having never won an Olympic medal.
She was a well-known force to be reckoned with though, having won 10 gold medals at World Championships, more than any other female holds.
Adored by fans and extremely well-known, particularly in America, she is involved with a number of sponsorship deals with big names, such as Nike.
She even has emojis named after her, otherwise known as ‘Simojis’.
When she took to the Olympic stage in Rio the pressure was on, but Simone went above and beyond ensuring a successful overall performance.
