Sonic the Hedgehog is finally making it to the big screen with his own live-action movie.
The first trailer for the film was released today and shows the blue hedgehog using his supersonic speed to the fullest.
Fans will also recognise his arch-enemy Dr Ivo Robotnik, who has been one of the main villains for many of Sonic’s iconic video games.
He is set to face Dr Robotnik once again, while working alongside his new friend Tom Wachowski. Here is everything that you need to know about the new movie.
The movie is set to be released on Friday 8 November in the US, although a release date for the UK hasn’t been confirmed yet.
It looks likely that the UK could be getting the film slightly later, although the trailer says that fans can expect it to be out in November.
Ben Schwartz has been cast in the lead role and will be providing the voice of Sonic, who will be an CGI character.
Other than that the rest of the cast will be real people, as the movie is live-action and therefore set in the real world.
Dr. Ivo Robotnik, otherwise known as Eggman, will be played by Jim Carrey, which will be his first movie role since appearing in Dark Crimes in 2016.
James Marsden will also have a prominent part in the movie as Tom Wachowski, who is the new sheriff in Green Hills, and he will be working alongside Sonic to take down Dr Robotnik.
Other cast members will include Adam Polly as a cop and Neal McDonough as US Army Major Bennington, as well as appearances from Tika Sumpter, Frank C Turner, Natasha Rothwell and Lee Majdoub.
