TNT has learned that there has been a stabbing in Whalley Range Manchester.
At approximately 9.20am this morning, Tuesday May 12th , the victim was walking along Yarbrough street, at the junction of Alexandra road south adjacent to Alexandra Park. Whilst walking he was set upon allegedly by two men who attacked and stabbed him.
The Nubian Times then witnessed emergency services leaving with the victim, who now has been taken to hospital where his condition is described as critical.
Police believe that he was attacked by two men who then ran off into the park.
A police investigation has been launched and Alexandra Park has been cordoned off.
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Cunliffe of South Manchester division said: “A man is fighting for his life in hospital and I would urge anybody who has information about this incident to come forward.
“It is not known at this stage whether the offender and the victim knew each other.
“When an incident like this happens, I understand it can cause a huge amount of distress in the community, but I would like to reassure the public that we have extra patrols in the area and are doing all we can to catch the offenders.”
