Longsight born Taya Sophie has worked with some of the biggest names in UK Grime however the direction of her music was altered when she began to produce contemporary pop and R&B. Through working with grime producer Bless Beats Taya met and connected with Lunick Bourgess, a former grime producer that now manages her career, Bourgess has also worked with the likes of ‘Chipmunk’ and ‘DJ Ironik’.
The Manchester singer/songwriter has been receiving recognition in abundance for her recent adventures within the music world, so much so that her latest single ‘F**ked Up’ featuring London based hip hop artist Scrufizzer has been promoted on 50 Cent’s website. Taya’s original single ‘F**ked Up’, which featured on her newly released album ‘Know My Name’, was very warmly received and subsequently she has produced an engaging and elaborate remix of the track.
The article on 50 Cent’s website evokes hype around the release of the remix, it states, “Taya Sophie follows up her original mix for “F**ked Up with a remix that features none other than rapper Scrufizzer. The powerful and eerily sounding beat allows both artists to express their musical talents for you to embrace.”
With Taya’s first EP reaching number 17 on the R&B/Soul charts on iTunes purely on pre-orders and her music consistently being played on radio stations such as Unity Radio and Break London, the future is immensely bright for the 21-year-old. 50 Cent’s website has also already been looking forward to Taya Sophie’s second EP release which is set to happen on an unknown date next year, the article remarked, “With a second EP release on the way there is plenty more in store from Taya Sophie”.
