Hit children’s TV show the Teletubbies is going to be remade, much to the dismay of original creator Anne Wood who has said she is “a bit sad” at the idea.
The latest in a long line of kids’ TV shows to be given a makeover, Teletubbies was a national hit with pre-schoolers from 1997 to 2001.
It is now going to make a comeback later this year after creator Ms. Wood sold the rights in 2013 to help fund new shows.
Anne said although she has nothing against the new producers, she couldn’t bring herself to watch it, adding: “All my programmes are like my children. It’s like seeing a child remade in somebody else’s image. So good luck to them.”
