On Monday 17 October, Manchester held the much anticipated Olympic and Paralympic parade.
As a celebration of the success of our Team GB athletes in Rio over the summer, over 150,000 people gathered in the city centre.
The athletes received ecstatic receptions from the crowds as they passed on their floats, with people old and young excited to catch a glimpse of their favourite athletes.
After getting off the mark at the Museum of Science and Industry, the parade went through the city centre and ended at a stage in Albert Square. A selection of athletes across various Olympic and Paralympic sports were interviewed.
The crowd were also entertained by a performance from singer Rebecca Ferguson. Later, the Kaiser Chiefs later took to the stage, headlining the event after Olly Murs had to pull out at the last minute.
It was a wet Manchester evening, but spirits were high from start to finish, as the city showed their admiration for Team GB.
