After twelve years on air, Tyra Banks is ending ‘America’s Next Top Model’. The queen of the ‘smize’ claimed that the show has done all it can do.
“You’ve got to leave when you’re on top. What are we going to do? We’ve done girls, we’ve done guys and girls. We can’t do children because…that’s not so ethical”.
In its twelve-year span, the ANTM has helped expand the definition of beauty, with controversial winners such as plus-size contestant, Whitney Thompson. By being the first plus-size contestant in Cycle 10, Thompson was able to fight against industry standards of beauty.
The formal supermodel continues to work tirelessly, as the popular show will still air around the world. Tyra is also the executive producer and host of her new daily daytime show, FABLife.
