Progress with LGBT community
Progress is being made in the LGBT community, with more modelling agencies devoted to transgender models.
One of these agencies, Trans Models, was one of the first agencies to make waves with changes. It was determined to provide a platform to voice the discrimination often faced.
According to Peche Di, the founder of Trans Models, the industry is not diverse enough. She claims there is a primary focus on straight, white, slim, cisgender models. In an effort to make the industry more inclusive the agency was set up in New York in 2015. The agency now has 19 models in its books.
Are we seeing the dawn of absolute inclusiveness in the LGBT community? Or is there still a great deal to be done?
