UK Bank Holiday goes off with a bang!
Many would agree that August bank holiday is the best long weekend of the year and 2015 certainly didn’t disappoint.
The legendary Notting Hill Carnival had London dancing, singing and eating in what was its usual colourful, vibrant scene with celebrations continuing well in to the night.
Closer to home in Yorkshire there was Leeds Festival where headline acts such as Kendrick Lamar kept campers happy and Manchester’s own Bugzy Malone tore up the 1Xtra stage on the Saturday.
If camping wasn’t your thing then Leeds Carnival had all the vibes of Notting Hill but in a smaller, less crowded Potternewton Park where carnival Queen Charis Betts and Carnival King Elroy Condor headed the parade.
Here in Manchester, the Pride Big Weekend saw Danii Minogue, Atomic Kitten and Hot Since 82 to name a few take to the Main Stage at a weekend full of fabulousness!
Everybody, regardless of sexuality, came together to celebrate love and this year’s theme of ‘Devotion’.
The August bank holiday may signal the end of summer and all that festival fun but the festivities can continue for the rest of the year with events like the Urban Weekender 20-22 November.
A wicked selection of UK acts including headliners Kano, Wretch 32, Stormzy and Big Narstie supported by the likes of Shoa, A Me B, Lady Ice and Dj Roesh are set to provide a weekend of the best music and festival vibes but under a roof, no wellies needed!
