‘Black. Negro. Ugly. Awful. Commoner. Her seed will taint our Royal Family…’
Ukip leader Henry Bolton said that he’s ended his relationship with racist 25-year-old girlfriend Jo Marney.
He dumped her after signalling he would not stand down after it emerged Marney reportedly made racist remarks about Prince Harry’s fiancée Meghan Markle.
The Mail On Sunday printed texts it said had been sent by Marney. In the message, Marney refers to Ms Markle as: a ‘Negro’, ‘Ugly’, ‘Wet as a scrubber. Awful’, ‘A gender equality t**t’, ‘A dumb little commoner. Tiny brain’.
‘This is Britain, not Africa’, she continued before fuming, ‘[Black people] Pushing their way to the top slowly slowly. Next will be a Muslim PM [Prime Minister]. A black king’.
Speaking about the break-up, Mr Bolton, 54, told ITV’s Good Morning Britain: ‘As of last night the romantic side of our relationship has ended, we had that conversation last night when I returned from Yorkshire.
‘The conversation will, of course, remain a private conversation, but it was a long and upsetting conversation for both of us.
‘At the moment it is obviously quite incompatible to continue the relationship. I’m going to be continuing to support her family because Jo is absolutely distraught by this.’
Despite widespread calls for his resignation, Mr Bolton made it clear he wanted to stay in place as the party again plunged into turmoil.
Mr Bolton, who became Ukip’s fourth leader in a year last September, was set to use a number of media appearances on Monday to fully address for the first time the raging controversy over his 25-year-old partner Marney’s comments.
In footage released by MailOnline, Mr Bolton said ‘No’ when he was asked if he would stand down as leader.
Ms Marney apologised for ‘shocking’ language in a series of messages to a friend in which she is said to have made highly offensive comments about Ms Markle and black people.
The 54-year-old party leader, whose relationship with Marney is under investigation by Ukip, said she had been suspended ‘immediately upon us receiving this information’.
The Daily Telegraph also reported that Marney had allegedly sent other messages of a graphic nature referencing sexual abuse to a friend. Ukip West Midlands MEP Bill Etheridge called for Mr Bolton to go.
‘All we get day after day, despite the hard work of our activists, is talk about issues with his personal life, which, frankly, I don’t care about.
‘But the way he is handling it is unprofessional. ‘He’s a political lightweight, completely out of his depth and, frankly, he needs to move away.’
Former Ukip leadership candidate Ben Walker also called for Mr Bolton to resign, accusing him of having ‘deeply flawed judgment’.
