Police are appealing for the public’s help in order to identify a man who was discovered unconscious on the pavement with a head injury. The individual, who is believed to be in his late 40’s to early 50’s, was found lying unconscious by a passer by on Beckett Street in Gorton at around 4am, on the 15th of November.
The victim was taken to Salford Royal Hospital where he remains in a critical condition with a fractured skull and a bleed on the brain. Police are now appealing for the public’s help after all enquiries to establish who he is have proved to be fruitless. The man is described as white and of medium build, with short grey hair and dark eyebrows.
He was wearing a blue shirt with fishes spread across it, black jeans, black loafers, a dark blue mock suede River Island jacket and socks which read ‘best dad ever’. Detective Sergeant Shagufta Khan has remarked “We are trying to work out the circumstances which led to this man lying unconscious on the road. He was found by a passer-by and at this stage it was unclear how long he had been lying there before he was found”.
Mr. Khan also said “we desperately need to identify him so we can inform his family what has happened to him. So far all efforts to find out who he is have failed, so by putting out the information about his appearance and the images of the shirt and keys we hope to find someone who knows who this man is”. Anyone with information on this man’s identity is asked to call police on 101, quoting the incident number 151115/557.
