Police investigating the murder of a teenager in Moss Side in May have made a ninth arrest, with all eight previous arrestees having been bailed.
Abdul Hafidah, the victim, was found by police called to the scene on Thursday 12 May at around 5.15pm with serious injuries.
The 18-year-old was treated for stab wounds to the neck and abdominal injuries, but later passed away in hospital.
Detective Sergeant Wes Knights said: “This is now our ninth arrest and we will continue to progress this investigation and carry on with our enquiries”.
“I would ask anyone who might have been in the area at the time of Abdul’s murder to come forward. Every bit of information could help us give his family answers”.
A 19-year-old from Moss Side was arrested on suspicion of murder on Friday 10 June and remains in custody.
It is believed that Abdul was chased by a group of men on Greenheys Lane, before being involved in a collision with a blue Vauxhall Corsa on Moss Lane East.
The car was recovered off Athol Road in Whalley Range, and police continue to appeal for information.
