Usain bolt’s shock defeat in his final sprint

At the World Championships 2017, Bolt sprinted down the track for the last time and is now officially retired. To the shock of his fans he finished third at a speed of 9.95 seconds, picking up a bronze medal. Not, gold as expected for his final farewell, before hanging up his running shoes for good.

Everyone got the spectacular race they were waiting for. Although it was truly an unexpected outcome. Despite the shock defeat, Usain bolt is still considered by the fans alike as the ‘Golden boy’ of sprinting.

Winner – Justin Gatlin ran in 9.92 seconds while Christian Coleman registered 9.94 seconds. The crowds displeasure was made clear as they gave Gatlin a raptious boo. Gatlin’s record isn’t blemish free, as he has been suspended twice for doping in the past.

His win has been overshadowed by Usain’s retirement. Although Bolt has remained gracious enough in his defeat to have a few kind words to say about Gatlin. ““He [Gatlin] is a great competitor. I really appreciate competing against him and he is a good person,”

Usain Bolt will go down in history as one as the most deserving and charsmatic athlete of all time. His brand endorsements for the like of Puma, Virgin Media, Gatorade, Nissan and Hublot, contributed to Bolt’s earnings of $34.2 million. Bolt is now estimated to be worth in excess of £47 million.
