US singer songwriter Usher has confirmed that hi long-awaited new album, “Flawed”, is about to drop. Fresh from releasing his single ‘No Limit’ featuring Young Thug, the 37-year-old said he is about to drop his eighth studio album.
The R&B singer-turned-actor is currently promoting his role in the Robert Durán biopic ‘Hans of Stone’ and reportedly said the album and film are likely to share the same release dates.
Speaking to HipHollywood, Usher said that, “The music is coming soon. I’m working on a release date very soon, if not flanking the release of the film”.
“Flawed” is the followup to 2012’s “Looking 4 Myself,” which Usher has spent the past three years teasing. Earlier this year in June, the Grammy Award-winning singer announced the album title, embarked on his “UR Experience Tour” and also released the track “Crash” on Tidal.
Reportedly, Jermaine Dupri, who produced Usher’s mega-hit album “8701” will be working on the new project.
Although it premiered at Cannes on 16 May this year, Hands of Stone will be across cinemas on 26 August.
Hands of Stone is the American-Panamanian biographical sports film about the career of Panamanian former professional boxer Roberto Durán. Directed and written by Jonathan Jakubowicz, the film is based on a book by Christian Giudice.
Usher will star alongside Edgar Ramirez, Robert De Niro and John Turturro.
