Manchester Arena attack: Wigan arrest
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have confirmed they have made another arrest in connection with the Manchester attack.
The fast-moving operation has seen at least 5 arrests made already, as the terror threat in UK is still at critical.
GMP made an arrest in Wigan on 24 May, in connection with the investigation into the incident at Manchester Arena.
Following this arrest, a house in Wigan was raided on 25 May and is currently being searched.
Potentially suspicious items were found at the address and a large cordon has been put in place as EOD make an assessment.
We have a number of officers on the ground and are evacuating people as a matter of precaution as public safety is paramount to our investigation. We are working with the local authority to accommodate those who have been evacuated.
A total of 22 people died, with 64 injured after 22-year-old Salman Abedi blew himself up with a suicide bomb at the Ariana Grande concert in Manchester.
Yesterday at 11am, a minute’s silence was held at St Ann’s Square in commemoration of the victims who lost their lives on Monday.
Many places across the UK held a minute’s silence at 11am too.
