Greater Manchester Police (GMP) are appealing to the public for any information after a woman was raped near the city centre.
On Sunday 2 October, shortly after 11:50pm, police responded to a report that a 24-year-old woman had been raped on Wood Street in the city centre.
Since the attack, an investigation has been launched and police are now appealing for anyone possible witnesses with information to come forward in order to aid the investigation.
Detective Inspector John Mulvihill, of GMP’s Major Incident Team, said: “I understand that an incident like this will cause concern and I want to assure the community that we have increased patrols in response.
“We are very much in the early stages of our investigation and we are treating this as an isolated incident.
