Police detectives investigating a rape at a city centre nightclub continue to appeal for information.
On Sunday, 29 May 2016 just before 2.45am, officers were called to Ark Nightclub on Whitworth Street, to a report that an 18-year-old woman had been raped inside the venue.
An investigation was launched by GMP’s Serious Sexual Offences Unit and a 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of rape on Thursday 28 July 2016.
He was released on bail pending further enquiries until 27 October 2016.
Detective Constable Dave Jones, from GMP’s Serious Sexual Offences Unit, said: “We currently have one man on bail and our investigation continues.
“The club was very busy that night with a large number of people attending to see Oxide and Neutrino perform. I would like to continue to urge anyone who might have any information about that night to please come forward.
“Our specially trained officers are continuing to offer support to the victim, who has shown tremendous courage throughout our enquiries and I would like to pay tribute to her for that”.
