A shop manager and a shop assistant have recently stopped a man from stealing a consumer’s mobile phone in Manchester city centre. At around 4.15pm on the 5th of November a man was violated whilst shopping in Cycle Republic in Piccadilly. As he was browsing the store he placed his wallet and phone in the shop window before being approached by a man who had just entered the shop.
The two men discussed bikes whilst the offender told him to try a bike and ride it around the store. As he did, the man stole his phone and wallet and then exited the store. Realising what had happened two staff members gave chase before catching up with the perpetrator and retrieving the phone, before he managed to escape with the wallet.
The man is described as a 6ft 1in tall white man of stocky build, he has short shaven brown hair and is in his mid 30’s. The man in question also wore a tracksuit with black trainers and spoke with a local accent.
