Greater Manchester Police (GMP) are appealing for witnesses to come forward in relation to a rape attack on a 25-year-old woman.
The attack is reported to have occurred at around 4am just after dawn on Sunday 5 July 2015. Subsequently a scene has been established in Wythenshawe Park and the investigation is still ongoing.
Detective Superintendent Chris Maddocks, of GMP’s Serious Sexual Offences Unit said: “I understand that residents will be understandably concerned about this incident, but I would like to reassure them that we will have extra patrols in the area.
“Specialist officers are supporting the victim through this difficult time.
“We are appealing for witnesses to come forward and assist detectives with their enquiries.
“If you were in the area at the time of the attack, or believe you saw anything you think might be relevant please contact police as a matter of urgency.”
