A woman is in a critical condition after being stabbed in South Manchester.
At around 1.05am on Sunday 30 October 2016, police were called to a junction following a report that a 30-year-old woman had been stabbed repeatedly.
The victim was taken to hospital with multiple stab wounds and injuries to her head and neck. The 30-year-old remains in a critical condition.
Police officers visited the scene and subsequently, a 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. The suspect remains in police custody for questioning.
GMP has now launched an investigation and is appealing for witnesses. Detective Inspector Tony Lea, said: “We have a man in custody… but we still need witnesses to come forward and help us with the investigation”.
GMP urges anyone who may have witnessed the incident to get in contact as soon as possible.
