Police are appealing for witnesses after a 36-year-old woman was brutally raped in Mossley. The attack is believed to have happened at around 10pm on the 21st of October in the grounds of a derelict care home off Micklehurst Road, Mossley. The local police claim this is an isolated incident and offences of this type are extremely rare, therefore they are reassuring the public that they are doing everything they can to identify and arrest the offender.
Detective Inspector Dave Loughlin from Greater Manchester Police’s Tameside division said “News of this attack has understandably shook the local community and our officers have been speaking to the community over the last couple of days to try and identify the man responsible. We are offering all the support we can to the victim who suffered this traumatic ordeal”.
Dave McLoughlin has appealed to anyone who might have any inkling as to who is to be held responsible, he added, “You may think your information is trivial, but it could be vital to our investigation, so please call us and tell us what you know”.
