World Refugee Day
Today, 20 June, Reform Radio is marking World Refugee Day.
With a full day of programming, it will showcase the art, life and determination of refugees.
Listen all day on www.reformradio.co.uk and get interactive in the chat or on all social media using #WeStandWithRefugees.
Highlights of the day include live sessions from the studio with Shalamar Lawson and The Voice of Africa Choir. In addition, there will be spoken word performances from Remi Adefeyisan.
At midday, The Coalition of Chaos takes a satirical look at the current refugee crisis. It will feature interviews and commentary from BBC journalists, former spin doctors and documentary film makers.
At 1pm there is a Journeys Festival International Showcase, were Reform will be speaking to the people behind the event. The focus will be what they have planned this year and will feature some of the best refugee-produced music around.
At 3pm Rite Trax will be playing exclusive excerpts from the monologue Home, written by Jeanny Gering and Rebecca Loudon, which sees the refugee situation in Berlin through the eyes of a journalist.
Reform will also be playing some of the highlights from last year’s World Refugee Day broadcast. The evening shows will look to world music for inspiration, in dedication to our refugee brothers and sisters.
Listen in online all day at www.reformradio.co.uk and get interactive @reformradiomcr on twitter using #WeStandWithRefugees.
